The team of Louis Ouimette and Diane Thiffeault, who compete in the Top Sportsman and Top Dragster classes, are set for the debut of the new NAPA ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN DRAG RACING SERIES.
The team hails from Timmins Ontario, and is registered for the three race ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN SERIES, with aspirations of putting their cars in contention, for the huge $10,000 to win top prize.
Louis drives a supercharged small block Chevy powered 1967 Chevy Nova in the Top Sportsman class, while Diane will be wheeling her nitrous injected 540 big block Chevy powered dragster in the Top Dragster category. Louis yellow Nova was built by GPS Race Cars, while Diane’s car is a 230″ wheelbase Chassis Craft dragster. Both engines were built by Ajax Racing Engines, in Ajax Ontario. The team enjoys sponsorship from Active Collision Service Ltd., as well as Active Towing. Diane also adds Siva’s Family Restaurant, Permanent and Proud Tattoo, and Prompt Storage, to her list of sponsors.
The team is looking forward to competing in the new USDRS, and would love nothing more than to qualify both cars, and meet up in the final round, where the Top Dragster winner faces off with the Top Sportsman winner!
A big thanks goes out to the Crew Chiefs Scott Wildgust and John Wiema, along with crew members Morgan Sheppard, Joe McCann and Morgan Henderson.
The first race in the NAPA AUTOPRO ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN DRAG RACING SERIES, takes place at Cayuga Dragway, inside Toronto Motorsports Park, on July 10, 11, 12, as part of the Canadian Nitro Nationals. The USDRS will be featuring Pro Modifieds, as well as the Top Sportsman – Top Dragster 32 car field.
